Recently purchased a second gen Steyr M40 A1 that is extremely gently used. I love the style and the way it shoots, I have put about 300 rounds through it and was amazed at all of the things we love about Steyr  When I took it to my gunsmith to see what I could do to ease the mag release (I need it to drop and free fall) I was shocked because he told me that all I needed to do was break it in! Apparently whoever "used" it before me really hadn't USED it at all. It shows no signs of wear, has all the papers, 2 mags (12 rounds), key, original case and even the registration card that came with the gun originally. I have fallen deeply in love with Steyr (don't tell my wife!) :chair: and would love to buy another, economically that doesn't make sense for me at this time so I need to try to find a trade for it. I would really prefer the M9 A1 as I am starting training for competition shooting and a .40 cal is going to make that difficult for obvious reasons. A 9mm would still fit in the holster I had custom made for it, and honestly I don't want to shoot anything else. I have an FFL to go through, I'm located in Northern IL (Chicago suburbs) and am willing to drive. If you have extra magazines I would be happy to purchase them as I need more than two for competitions. I'd rather NOT outright sell it but for the right price I would consider it. I am new to posting in this forum but have used it for info purposes for quite some time now and am glad I did because all of you convinced me to buy this beautiful firearm so Thank you all very much, my heart thanks you and so does my wallet for not letting me buy something more expensive and less amazing!

Would also take an L9 A1 if that's something that works better for anyone. If the L9 doesn't fit in the holster I had made I will throw it in for free to make up the money difference. It was $90.00 from doddgear.com. It's the black/white/grey camo pattern so it blends really well with clothing.
