    Waiting...waiting...

For my M9AI to get into the country, waiting for the dealer to give me an email to say its here, waiting to see if the 9mm mags do fit into the Fobus 6900 mag pouches, waiting to find out the trigger guard dimensions to see what CR-Speed holster might fit, waiting to feel the grip, see how it points, how it shoots.........

Man, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas, only I don't know what date it falls on.

    They fit something like this:

I know, I know.... Those are 40 S&W Mags in the photo.... I forgot to swap'em out before I took the picture....

Rest assured, they are identical in every dimension other than the top where the bullets feed out....

ALL my Steyr Mags fit quite Snug in my Fobus 6900....

Love that reflection from the side of the mag. You don't get that with the other Austrian handgun.

The lucky day will be next Tuesday. It will be posted to my work. I got it half retail price here because it has no box, no key, no cleaning kit, and only one mag. I'm assured the gun is brand new though.

Half retail is $1069 New Zealand Dollars. = 753 US Dollars.

Polymer, Next Tuesday is a very lucky day indeed. That is the due date for me to get my M9-A1 as well. The anticipation is better than when I was 16 and that first nekkid girl was within my reach. OK, not quite that good but certainly better than the new bottle of ketchup.

"...Half retail is $1069 New Zealand Dollars. = 753 US Dollars" FWOAH!

and i thought the M9A1 is expensive in my country. i ordered mine for 32,000 Philippine Pesos + 5600 for processing and stuff.

    32,000 Philippines Pesos = 696 US Dollars; 5600 Php = 122 US Dollars.
    696 + 122 = 818 US Dollars. i get everything though.

it's expensive compared to what i've read it goes for in the US. but compared to NZ, FWOAH . whoever gets the bulk of the profit must be laughing his head off.

Yeah, I know its expensive. But the local gun shop is selling them for $1900 NZD which is robbery.

Yeah the expectation is a bit more than a new bottle of tomato sauce as we call it. I was shooting at a national IPSC shoot today and was thinking "doesn't matter if I shoot bad because my Steyr is arriving this week".

Expense wise its comparable to the price of a Sig here.

So let the great holster and mag hunt begin!

Makes one appreciate getting a new M9 (admittedly with only 1 10-round mag) for $300.

    Its here!

Now I'm gonna look like the poor cousin but this is how it turned up.

    And without the wrapping:

I went straight out to the range and put some rounds thru it before I was rained out.

A range report will follow ....

    Yeeha!

Somehow it looks so much cooler sitting in a plain card board box on top of bubble wrap then it does in its intended packaging.

    Good on ya, mate!

Not than I got $930 to buy a pistol, but at least you can get a S9-A1. They aren't to be had for love nor money here. Steyr shipped a handful to the U.S. and they were gone quicker than a sailor's money in a 'ho house! (Not that this ex-sailor would know anything about that. )
