I'm on my 2nd .308 Scout now. I like the Scout concept very much, and use mine primarily as a stalking (hunting)rifle, it excels for me in this role, being light enough to carry all day and accurate and powerful enough to take care of all the species I might encounter here (UK).
It has some neat features such as the spare mag in the stock, which I really like, and the integral folding bipod is useful sometimes, too, and way better than no bipod, (also better than mounting an after market bipod, which makes the gun clumsy). You son't get these on the Ruger Gunsite Scout (which I also rather like the look of, but the version they ship to the UK is without the flash-hider and threaded barrel, making it a no-go for a sound mod, which is pretty much standard equipment on UK hunting rifles, these days).
Can't tell you to buy it, only that I've enjoyed mine.
