Ian of Forgotten Weapons dropped a video on the new Steyr AT pistols.

"Steyr has just released its first new handgun since the M9. This new design is call the AT (Austria), with a competition model (AT-C) and a service/carry/defense model (AT-D). The gun is a Browning short recoil system that takes a lot of cues from the original Sig P226 handling and design. In fact, part of the concept is to fill the market gap left by the shuttering of European Sig production. The AT series is a modular system, but unlike most such new releases it actually comes with a number of different options available right from launch. There are three slide/barrel lengths (4", 5", 6"), both SA and DA triggers, and multiple hammer springs available. Several of the parts - including the grip and beavertail - are also publicly available as 3D models, so that DIY folks can make their own however they prefer."

It’s great news about the new guns. I’m really not surprised that the new owners would go in this direction though.
Looks like the end of the line for the M9’s, etc., and all their other polymer pistols.
But I’m definitely interested in the AT-D

I love my steyr firearms. But this at-c and at-d are not steyr imho. They are made by arex and rebranded as steyr. Yes, arex makes very good firearm and no doubt these 2 pistols will be amazing to shoot. Just like my custom worked up sig p226 is just pleasure to shoot. Just a little sad to see this happened and no more innovation after steyr is bought by rsbc.

I agree 100% . It would be very easy for Steyr to offer more variations with the existing platform . 3 different size pistols already existing , such as ;
Optics Ready , that’s 3
Suppressor Ready, 3 more , that’s 6
Optics and Suppressor Ready , 3 more , that’s 9
Compact Carry on the C model , shorten the grip and the mag . 1 more , that’s 10 .
Compensated models . 3 more , that’s 13 .

All of this could be done easily by the factory with existing slides and barrels already made by Steyr . Shortening a grip and mag would not be that hard for the factory . This is what most pistol manufacturers do .

Darn, Steyr seems to have abandoned anything BUBITS. No wonder he left! LOW BORE AXIS IS IMPORTANT! If they intend to sell other countries designs WHY could they not revive the Caracal? I see a big piracy of the Daewoo DP51, the finest pistol ever made, except for the original M9. What, no backstraps or side swells for the grips? I see nothing new here, except for the end of Steyr Pistols.............................elsullo
