Stan, from your description you may have a model MCA rifle. The model and caliber are stamped on the top of the receiver but may be obscured/covered by the scope or scope base (unless it has a side mount). If you are unable to see/read it, you would need to remove the scope or a top mounted scope base to get that information. The lever on the bolt is also a safety but can be made inoperable when a scope is mounted which is why there also is the side mounted safety. You are correct in that the '62' stamped on the left is the year of mfg. The value can range from 1K-2K depending on the condition. As far as obtaining a manual, you may need to keep an eye on eBay or the internet in general to see if one pops up. I have a Steyr Luxus from the 1970s and it took a while before I was able to locate one.
