Steyr Mannlicher M 6.5x55

    Not for a steyr specific but i load 6.5 swed. Why

    Just wondering if modern loads are safe in it compared to the lower pressure military load data that Hornady lists in its manual.

    Id stay on the cooler side if it's a older rifle. Probably would be ok but why put that wear and tear on it unnecessarily. I have a 1891 Argentine mauser that was beautifully converted to 6.5 swede probably back in the early 1950s I load the cooler side closer to the old standard and probably the type of ammunition it was shooting at the time it was converted and it shoots great. Really accurate

    Yeah, I agree. No need for souped up loads to hunt deer. According to the date stamp, it was built April 1988.
