Hi there fellow Steyr devotees

Just quick mention that atlast mainstream movies have picked up on what an excellent weapon the STEYR M pistols are, as was used extensively by the hero/main character, Brian Mills (Liam Neeson)in the new "TAKEN 2" movie, which is a sequel to the excellent "Taken" movie that came out in 2008.

It is used as his own weapon of choice at the end of the movie and makes a change from seeing GLOCKS being used all the time, whilst have nothing against that pistol, which have used on many occasions - its just nice to see the STEYR M9-A1 in the limelight now as well.

If you're looking for an action movie to watch, would say it's worth a good recommendation - (as like the original) it's well worth price of the ticket!

Enjoy...!!!

I hope the second one is good.

Though, I'd purely watch it now just because of the Steyr.

OUTSTANDING to hear!

I've never been a fan of Glucks, and I LOVE my Steyr, wish they would get some mainstream recognition so then the aftermarket would support them better as well.

I absolutely HATE going to a gun store, or gun show and not finding a single Steyr anything, but 1,000 different Glock and others. It seems that they are a pariah amongst gun sellers, nary a one found. Once in a while when you DO find one, the sellers don't even know anything about it. I try to help them learn, but seems they aren't interested.

:( Thanks for the positive news though OP!!

I just watched this movie last night. I agree that it is well worth the price of the ticket, and as I was watching it, I noticed he was using the M9-A1 pistol! I looked at my buddy and was like, "Thats my gun! That's my gun!!!" Absolutely awesome to see it being used in a movie. Totally made it awesome. I love seeing my guns in movies or shows when they are not common pieces like Glocks.

The Steyr doesn't show up until the last action sequence in the film; about 20 minutes or so from the end. I cringed when I saw what he did to it at the end! The M9-A1 was not in his case of tactical goodies shown early in the film (I think a Beretta 92 series with a bottomless magazine was his original go-to gun), but it was still nice to see it. The movie is entertaining, but not nearly as good as the first one.

The fun is lost when you already know the main character is THE baddest motherfuckeronearth.

Saw the movie on opening night. I saw the M9 a1 with the unmistakable trapezoidal sights towards the ending of the movie. Great to see my
gun in Hollywood movies which is mostly dominated by Glocks and Berettas.

Yes, there are Steyrs in "Skyfall", one in Makau casino scene and another in the last scene at least. I thought it looked like S not M, but I might be wrong.

I recently saw Taken 2 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely not as good as Taken, but still enjoyable. And seeing the M9-A1 made it all the more enjoyable.
