Since I got reamed for posting cat pictures in the pub with my brand spankin new Digital camera I decided this might be a bit more appropriate
Lot of camera bugs here so trying out something new. Just cat ching up on the photo digital cat thingie now. Here's a whiskery cat of sorts via Fuji digital SLR with Nikkor 105 micro: Health, Peace Steyrile
That catepillar is of unknown variety but apparently native to NC. Now that I've hijacked the thread, here's another Rollei, not a TLR but with a Bul pistol you might find interesting. It's from: http://www.bultransmark.com/index2.htm Health, Peace Steyrile
Rollei-Fuji-Nikon guy? Hey steyrile, you're my kinda guy, Rollei, Fuji and Nikon! Those are some heavy-duty brands of photography gear. I'm thinking of upgrading my Fuji digital to the new Nikon D40. I have yet to bit the bullet to buy a Nikon digital SLR so I can use my old Nikon 35mm lenses but with the price down below $500 with the D40 the time is nigh. Any of you Steyroids who are also camera nuts got any D40 experience? And one more question steyrile, how much is that doggie in the window, the BUL M-5 Carry? And is that the 9mm or the .45 ACP? Strange combo for a 3-inch compact, jump from 9 to 45 without intermediate stops for 40 and 357? How about a firsthand review on that BUL M-5 Carry?
Re: Rollei-Fuji-Nikon guy? Net: No experience with the Bul. Thought it was a purty picture off the 'net which is why I posted the URL. No experience with modern nikon digitals either! I bought a used Fuji S1 digital SLR about a year ago since it takes Nikon mount lenses of which I have many. My experience with digital was nil, didn't have photoshop, heard Fuji gave great color right out of the camera and the price was less than a new Nikon so I waited for a good deal on Ebay. Flash automation isn't so great but it works. One drawback of D-SLR's is dust on the sensor. Who knew? I've been contemplating a big light for my M9 and now realize Rollei ISN'T the only TLR out there. Doh! Ask me about women next... :? Health, Peace Steyrile
Yes, I wrapped the bezel in duck tape because muzzle blast will remove the finish on the TLR. It's easily replaced. I've been out of photography around 15 years and I'm just getting back into it. If I was going to get Digital SLR I would look at the Nikon D50, it has a few more features the 40 lacks. The 40 can only use newer lenses as it does not have a body mounted focus motor.
