I shot an M9A1 at a match in a demo booth a while back and it's coming back to me for whatever reason.

I'm curious about the L9A1 for competition. Does anyone make +0 base pads out of aluminum for the magazines?

What's the best place to buy mags and what's a "Good" price?

Dawson doesn't make sights for the Steyr (Yet?) - does anybody else?

Assuming not (checked springer, taylor freelance, TTI) - how hard is it to get the baseplates off to brush out the mags?

Looks like holsters are no problem.

Anyone care to comment in a USPSA context how the L9 holds up?

IDPA dudes your opinions are welcome but it's not quite an apples to apples comparison (dropping partially depleted mags is a lot harder on them than dropping empties).

I was shooting an L9A1 several times in 2018 USPSA Limited. My gun has 3 dot night sights, the front sight being rather fat, and I love them.... but there is a reason why fiber front sights are more popular in competition. The magazines are 17 rds. I run my Tanfoglio with 21 round mags.

So long story short, if mag extension pads and fiber front sight where available I would shoot the L9 or L40 on a regular basis.
