Last night I noticed that my "new" S9 has a blackened steel guide rod with what looks to be a stock spring. Have Steyrs ever come with steel guide rods or is this an afermarket part? I recall some talk about Jack Ash and IGB making them. This one has a slot in the center of the disk at one end that looks like it was used to screw the disk in to caputure the spring. If anyone who is working on steel recoil rods would like a photo just message me.

M guide rods are plastic, S guide rods have always been steel.

Sounds like you've got a stocker.

    Sorry.....lol.

Stock is good if it's steel. I'd rather it be stock. I just wish they would have gone with steel all the way through with the M and MA1. Hopefully someone here will fill the bill. If not I can always have a chat with Lightning Strike.
