Springfield hellion

So for Father’s Day I ended up getting a Springfield hellion. It’s an interesting gun and I like to use bull pups in general but overall if it’s a consideration for anyone I would look at some of the reviews. I left the iwi bullpups at home and took it out with my Aug and mdrx. Overall it has rough ergos, the grip is odd due to the angel and length of pull. The trigger is the worst of all of them. That said the Aug is upgraded. The release is in my view useless and you might as well run it like a nato Aug using the charging handle. The biggest issue is mag changes. It’s probably the worst I have seen, no flared Magwell and it’s not forgiving. Ive never had as much of a problem on mag changes as I did on this. The plus is I found the weight to be well balanced like the Aug and unlike the mdrx. It also by all appearance is accurate hitting steel at 100 yards. I can hit the hostage flipper without much issue. I do really like the look of this rifle but it needs some after market love. Overall I like it in my collection, but it’s not replacing the Aug as my go to. Just some thoughts and considerations to anyone looking at one.

Ha, love it
I got to play with one recently. I agree with your assessment. It was on my list but it isn’t anymore.
