I am a new M40-A1 owner and trying to find a holster. I appreciate the amount of information and the time owners are putting into these forums, it's a great time saver for a newbie like me. I've read through the info here and I need help finding a holster that: 1. Is reasonably priced. 2. I can get before the 4th of July. 3. Is just a general range type holster. I see lots of IWB and competition type holsters. I just need a simple holster. Something like the one that the XDs come with. Any thoughts?
You might want to checkout Blade Tech and Comp Tech. I picked up a Blade Tech for my M9 A1. Just for range work, and very happy with it. It is a paddle OWB. I am sure there are better ones for conceal carry but I wanted it just for the range and it works well for that application, very secure, costume fit, again quite pleased with it. Not the least expensive but far from the most expensive.
HMM Very nice! functional, simple but very well crafted. Not your first one, I assume. Do you have a source for the Dydex and the hardware?

OldPuppy.... First - Welcome... So much information here... it has helped me immensely. I have tried several slide holsters and have settled on the JIT #30 from Don Hume. It is listed as a holster for the SIG 220/229 but works very well with my M40. About $25. I have had this about a year with no issues....Available in local gun shops. On the Don Hume site... http://www.donhume.com/Products/Product ... oductID=53 Slunglo
heavymetalmachine: I am going to try and post a few pix..... If they don't post, I will tell you it looks close. My holster was broken in without the rail but it does look like it might fit with the rail if it's broken in with it... if that makes sense.... Slunglo
