Scored Myself a New M40-A1!

Okay, I finally jail broken the M40-A1 out of Ca jail. It is different from the old M40-A1 that I have back home. It now has a roll pin underneath the rear sights, no lci and SAI instead decided to place a "peep hole" on the top of the barrel. I am pretty sure I am imagining things, was the grip angle changed?? Was the magazine changed too? The ones I got have two cut outs in the body for the magazine release to engage, as if it seemed that the magazine was designed for ambi or reversible mag release, weird. I noticed that the ones I got have a more aggressive extractor, it looked beefier to me, were those changed too?

Its a new gun and I have not shot it yet, it seemed to me that the slide is harder to rack, did SAI changed the recoil spring poundage? Was the grip texture changed or was i just got used to aggressive grips on the other pistols? (horned lizard for my 1911 and talon grips on the other Austrian gun maker) Well, probably I am imagining things and the muscle memory would probably kick in when the I get the chance to shoot the pistol.

Anyhow, can a senior member point me out to a thread that shows the differences between the older m40-a1 and the newer generations? Thanks guys.

NB: will do the upgrades and internal polishing later when I get a chance to play with it more.

Hey thanks for the link Bronco! I guess it is an issue of getting used to the pistol again since I have not held or fired my old one back home in a year's time, that is why everything seemed odd and I am still in the process of re- acquainting myself with the M40-A1 all over again! Thanks for the link brother, It's not working now, but I think I have that on my files somewhere except the roller pin thing, which actually was the part that baffles me. Attaching some pics of the roller pin and the barrel "peep hole" I was rambling about.

73sbBert, got it through SSE brother, bought the pistol for 509 but paid another 149 for single shot conversion and another freaking 80 bucks for taxes dros and other hulabaloo! Ayayay, the hoops we in Ca have to jump through eh??! The kicker is this, there is a bill right now that is aimed to close the loophole on the law giving such exemptions to off roster pistol. Projected date of approval and end of the year, that means its the end of SSE that we in Ca relies on in purchasing the "exotic pistol" so to speak!
