I took my SBS Tactical HB with McMillan A3 out on Thursday to sight in the rife. I am selling the rifle to a friend.

    Optics
    IOR 2.5x10 MP8 reticle
    IOR low 30mm rings.

    Ammunition
    Hornady 178gr Amax
    44grs Varget
    Hornady brass

I managed to take two ground hogs at 100 yards (confirmed 100 yards because the hole was right next to the 100 yard target. The second ground hog was feeding at the 200 yard range. The second hog was hit right behind the ear.

As far as the SBS went, I managed a .495 5 round group at 100 yards. Wind was 10mph from the NE.

I know I could have sold the rifle package for more money, but I'm selling it to a friend. I am very confident that the rifle can shoot in the low .4s if I did my part.

Agreed, considering I was dealing with 10mph winds as well. Steyr makes some incredible weapons. It's a shame that so many never even heard of Steyr.

How do you like that DPMS? I was fondling one, but flipped when I saw it was missing a forward assist.

The newer DPMS has the forward assist and dust cover...for me it's not a big deal...most don't even use the forward assist.

I took the 5R out to the farm today. It doesn't have any bodies on it yet, but the .243 took a ground hog with a Hornady 75gr V max bullet. The Marlin suppressed took rabbits and birds today.
