On Sunday morning (16 September), I was cleaning the bolt on my Pro Hunter. I screwed up and turned the bolt shroud too far counterclockwise and fired it. On Monday morning I called SAI talked with Jeff (Warranty). He said to send it to him, I did later that evening via UPS. When I arrived home this afternoon from work (Wednesday the 19th of September) I had a package from SAI which contained the repaired bolt and no charge. Man... that was fast! I live in Athens, GA not far down the road but I was impressed with SAI's commitment to customer service. A big tip-o-the hat and a hearty thank you to the great people at SAI. THANK YOU! Paul Berkeypile.
If you go to http://www.frfrogspad.com and look around, you will find lots of tips and tricks about the Steyr Scout, and many of them apply to any Prohunter. He addresses the bolt shroud issue in: http://www.steyrscout.org/steyrtip.htm#Oops and offers a tool to help. If your Prohunter is an old one from the Alabama importer, he can replace the bolt cam with the newer one so the bolt lifts with a finger instead of a fist. A really nice guy, with a good web site.
