Guns&Ammo reviews the new Ruger SR9 in the Jan. 2008 issue. They gave it a 12,000-rd. warmup. I just noticed also that Bud's Gun Shop in fabulous downtown Paris, Ky. has the Ruger SR9 for $398 delivered. I'm looking at long-barrel pistols but this does look interesting if somebody wants to be first.
I've handled a couple of these and dry fired them. The trigger is extremely gritty, but I've heard that it gets much better with use and with losing the magazine disconnect (that shouldn't be there in the first place). The pivot of the trigger is weird causing sort of a hesitation in the pull. I find it annoying but maybe firing the gun it gets better. I really like the P Series, but if one of these new pieces comes my way it will be used and inexpensively, and not for a good while. Overall.....yawn. Buzz
One of the things I do not like about the P pistols that this one seems have are the puny sites.......otherwise, this could be a good pistol.......
