I had my .44mag revolver for almost a year now (it's my first wheelgun). Which I clean after every range session, but I took it apart...

This is going to sound stupid but here it goes; am I supposed to remove the cylinder for cleaning? I'm guessing frame has to be taken apart first? How often do I need to do this?

Not sure what the proper names are.

1) make sure gun is unloaded

2) open cylinder

3) slide grip off about 1 inch

4) while looking from the muzzle turn ejector rod clockwise then take rod out be carefull not to loose the spring or pin

5) pull ejector out again be carefull not to loose the spring or pin

6) slide cylinder off theres a spring inside the yoke & a short sleeve inside the rear of the cylinder. reverse to reassemble

This is how i take apart my Raging Bull 454 the others might be a little different.
