The man to protect you is you. Not the state, not the agent of the state, and not your hired hand. YOU! --Jeff Cooper 1975

Lt Col Cooper was influential in my life and his philosophy of "straight shooting" struck a chord within me.

A great American has died but his legend will live on.

    Semper Fidelis! Hand Salute!

I never had the pleasure on meeting Jeff Cooper except in his writings; When you get tired of all the BS you read it has always been refreshing to read something of Mr. Cooper's. He was real, and what he had to say and teach was direct, to the point and worthwhile.

Jeff cooper must have had the greatest impact as in most of the things that we learned and do today, in the love of this sport, most notably his love of the venerable and enduring 1911 flatform. His memory will live on.
