I am looking to get PT night sights for my new M40-A1 and wanted to get some input. For those of you who have got the PT sights installed, are you happy with them? Did they do a clean job of installing them? Was there marks left from the swight pusher? Is your gun just as accurate and straight shooting? Thanks for the input!!

I'm curious about this as well. Are the PT's a 3-dot sight?

Undecided if I'm going to stick with the trapezoidal sights on my M-A1.

Does anyone know what the discount code is for PT night sights? I contacted them and they said that I needed to get the code from the forum and that they wouldn't tell me.

Do they charge extra for installation or is it included in the price?

If I’ll decide to get them I would probablywant a local gunsmith to install them since there might be a problem with the customs.

BTW how much do they go for?

69.00 + 12.00 shipping. So 81 out the door. Totally worth it, and they do a great job installing it. Hopefully they have your slide less time than they had mine, though.

Hey Thunderbear,
What color combo of PT sights did you have installed on your Steyr? Is the gun as accurate with the new sights? Thanks!

Green/Green/Green. I like standard sights.

Still as accurate, but sometimes I miss that fat front sight triangle. That thing was crazy for fast reacquisition.

so the price includes instalation right? what about the shipping costs (for the slide)?

Would they offer a discount if I install the sights myself or have a local gunsmith do it? has anyone ever asked?

Yes, installation and return shipping of your slide (within the US at least) is included in the $81 quote. Don't know if it differs for Canada, best way to find out is to call/email Jerrie at PT and she can probably answer all your questions.

As for accuracy, they'll probably be more accurate than the shooter. I'm no expert, but shot this 30 round group at 10 yards.

I have PT green dot front, and red rear dots. The red dots help avoid confusion about which dot goes in the middle in the dim light, and are slightly dimmer than the front green dot. So that front sight jumps out, the way it should.

I have PT dash-dot-dash on a 1911, all green. Why? Because when I was a kid, the Able Team had those. It's ok, but I wish the rear sight's lines were red. I really like how that front sight jumps out in dim conditions.
