Polish??

    Hi,

    Have you ever noticed all those owner-taken photos of black guns with beautiful slightly glossy finishes? What trick(s) are people using to achieve this?

    I've noticed my C9 looks a bit like that when I take an oiled cloth to it. Lighting probably also has a lot to do with it, but I'm no photographer, so you're on your own with that one.

    Do you have an example? My best guess would be wetting the gun down with oil before taking the picture and then using Photoshop to achieve the final dramatic effect. It's amazing what software does for photos - even an awful photo can look passable with the right filters and unsharp mask tweak.
