In a different thread, I asked for your recommendations for a pocket holster for someone else. I ended up getting a Recluse.

Now that I’ve examined the Recluse pocket holster, I’ve started to think a little bit about getting a dedicated pocket pistol for myself, and carrying one more often.

I own a few contenders already: .38 Spcl snubbies by Colt (2), S&W(2) and Charter Arms (1); a .380 Sig P230 w alloy frame; a couple of .32 acp Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless. All are in top condition, reliable and relatively accurate.

While I have on occasion, stuck one of the above handguns in a hip pocket or coat pocket, I almost always carry in a belt holster... and usually not one of the above, but a 1911.

So, with that background...

Please educate me. What pocket pistols do y’all carry (actually as pocket pistols) and why that make/model over others?

Keltec 380 with the nine round magazine because it never gets left behind due to weight and size issues.
Green armalaser if possible.
Not a full double action, so should be unchambered unless in at least a slip on holster covering the trigger.

Keltec P-11 in 9mm, a true double action so can be carried chambered in a pocket by a careful person, with fitted armalaser in green.

I also have a Steyr S40/357 but it's heavier and larger.
In spite of Steyr sites insisting these are double action, I see no evidence of that.
Friend carries the Keltec P40 always with powerball ammunition for feeding.
He also has a Paraordnance double stack 45, which is bulky but as light as the Keltec without ammunition.
He carries that with lightweight ammunition.
I mostly carry Defiant copper hollowpoints, but a powerball at the top of a magazine ensures it won't jam.
For the more blunt 40s, powerball is not unreasonable for feeding.

I carry a Keltek P-11 (with a modified trigger shoe) with green Armalaser. I carry it OWB in a small $7 nylon “bag” I got from an Academy Sports Store. I usually carry it instead of my Steyr S9-A1 because it’s lighter. Nobody has ever mentioned the extra black bag hanging from my belt. I added an 8” piece of doubled paracord at the top rear corner to allow me to open the bag with one quick pull. I also have a similar version for my Steyr S9-A1. I got the concealed carry belt pouch from Craft Holsters for about $30.
