Let's not forget all the unfunded crap in this "bill". So what will happen is that more people will be "insured" on the state rolls. And since the fed bill doesn't take this into account there will be no federal dollars to pay for it. The end result will be that all of us stupid slobs who actually work for a living, and own homes and cars, will be taxed out the ass on the state level to provide health care so that the meth dealers can go to the doctor and dentist.

Don't that just make you all warm and fuzzy?

At least the AG in Colorado is on board for filing a lawsuit against the IDIOTS in dc.

Those of us who pay taxes need to stock up on lube as we are about to receive the "high hard one".
Good luck to all. JP

ummm... when we send them to prison we feed, clothe and house them too. in addition to doctor/dentist.

not passing judgement, just saying it's so.

At least there we don't have to share a waiting room with them...

so you'll pay for someone's food, clothing, shelter and basic healthcare costs as long as...

A) they've commited a crime.

B) you don't have to see, hear or deal with them anymore.

that is what "we" do and there's always money for law enforcement and prisons.

btw... yesterday I jaywalked, littered, broke numerous traffic laws and I promise we'll never share a waiting room. where do I submit my bills for re-imbursement?

feed, clothe, shelter and health care up a non-criminal?

that's obviously socialism.

no wonder "they" say they can't get ahead.

we spend 45% of our tax dollars on "defense" still focused on cold war strategy and threw a couple of wars on supplemental (credit card) so we could bring democracy to the middle east.

it's $450 of every $1000 you pay in taxes... to a military designed to confront a threat that doesn't exist.

and we didn't even have a standing national army when this country got going.

where's the outrage for this expenditure?

when someone without insurance walks into the ER they get treated and "we" pay when they can't. "we" are paying the tab for the uninsured anyway!

may as well get the uninsured and uninsurable to contribute to the cause since they're getting the service for "free" now at our expense in the form of higher rates.

we're all fooling ourselves if we don't think we have universal coverage.

what we don't have is universal cost.

The threat still very much exists - they just do not pose an obvious imminent threat. Vigilance is the the cost of security, and if you do not maintain the most powerful military force that humanity as ever seen, you introduce the opportunity for someone else to fill the vacuum you left - it's a deterrence of sorts. Sure, we're having to relearn how to fight in the Middle East, but that doesn't mean that we will never find ourselves in a war that does actually have naval and air battles. As a rule, Man has never been able to maintain peace and civility - we should not assume that things will always be as they are now. It's not cheap, but then again, neither is rebuilding coastal cities.

This is an excellent point. I think the source of the outrage is that we're now "officially" sanctioning what we already felt was bad policy. Even worse, we're trusting government to run the show - given their track record for running "social welfare" programs, the future looks quite bleak.

Ah just wait. With state budgets in the toilet how do you think they can afford their prison population? They can't. The rest of the US will follow CA's lead and start emptying their prisons too. High unemployment, lotsa parollees....we're gonna need all these Steyrs we've got.

Doctor's should ban together and refuse to service anyone who voted for this bill.
They could form a union. Instead of SEIU they could call it FUBO!
