    Hey guys,

I currently have an M9-A1 and I simply love it. I would like to know if you have heard of plans for a compact version, or is the S still in production?

I have searched with no luck.

    Thanks

    Steve

original S series is discontinued, several still show up for sale on the auctions sites though.
New SA1's are coming in slowly from austria.
http://www.galleryofguns.com had some last time i checked.

Thanks for the great link! Do you happen to know where I can find full specs on it in regards to it's size difference from the M?

I put about 200 rounds through my S9-A1 this weekend, pics are in the
    gallery on this web site.

PS I got one of the first 100 imported here.

Thanks for the update. How does it feel in your hand compared to the full size version? In looking at the pictures it dosen't appear that much smaller.

I think I am going to try and find one I can wrap my hands around. In the mean time I will just look at this wall paper I made and dream!

    Thanks again for your time

My full size is an olde M-40 , not an exact comparison, but both fit like they should , it natually becomes a point and shoot .

Last time I spoke with Steyr they said the S series had been changed again. Not sure what the final changes are but the first importation was not exactly what the final configuration is going to be.

It should end up being moderately collectible

    Steve,
I have the old M9 and S9, the size difference isn't much, but it is significant to me. The S9 works a lot better concealed inside waist band (I am size 34), and feels better in my small hands. I use the M9 as a bedside piece (no kids in home) because I like the 14 rounds. A friend of mine with larger hands prefers the M9. I think you are right to wait until you can get your hands on an S, especially if they are still tweaking them.

between original M and S was 1/2" shorter grip and slide/barrel.
A full size M mag will work in a S, it just sticks out 1/2".

Yep. 1/2" overall barrel and grip length difference.

For me, my (original) S9 feels better balanced in my hands. Obviously the grip is nearly identical other than length, but for some reason the 1/2" missing from the end of the S9 barrel just makes it feel more comfy to hold - my $.02.

I'm absolutely dying to get both an MA1 and SA1 - just to have the "full collection". Though I think I'd get .40 cal in each of those for variety. :)

Hello I am new to the forum,

I am interested in S9-A1 but will probably hold off or buy a M9-A1 if the S series is being changed again. The question I have is will the S series change? If yes then when will the final version be out?

Thanks any help is greatly appreciated! :D

    Here's my idea for a revamped S-A1

A1 style grip, old style trigger guard and front dust cover (only sans goofy Steyr rails).

No, they won't listen to me because the market says CCW pieces with light rails are teh hottness

loooking good Z. The whole pic rail needs revamped. Looks too boxy. I hope they streamline it better.
