I'm new and just discovered the site.
I've had my Model"M" 30.06 since the late 70s - best rifle I've ever owned !!

Now I want an M40A1 !! 8)

I am currently looking to learn more about the steyr tactical rifles,and the differences btwn them before I attempt to purchase one. Hey scottfn308 what is the lengh and weight of that tacticle HB that you have? How is it's long range accuracy?

I been readin the forums for a few weeks, but this is my cherry popper post.

I just got myself a Steyr Tactical Elite HB. chambered in .308
and I'm taking her to the range to 0 it tomorrow.

I bought her over others, because:
1 Steyr have a good reputation
2 The Scout is a kick-ass rifle so the Elite should be even better
3 The bolt and trigger are smooth and the stock is adjustable
4 the Bi-Pod
5 and it looks Bad-Ass ( I'm an artist so this is important )

I also have a Remmy 700 SPS .223
nice rifle, but the Steyr feels better cycling snap caps
My girl friend likes it though, and she's very little .308 recoil would probably render her disabled


anyway, I'll let you all know how I went 0ing down the range, next time I log.

Welcome to the club! Always glad to hear from new members and especially those from the other side of the world from where I am. Never got to see the beautiful country of "down under" during my travels with Uncle Sam, but maybe someday... :mrgreen:
