Got an email from NRA about a new site for their Shooting Illustrated monthly magazine, Gunsandhunting.com. Pretty slick. http://www.gunsandhunting.com/index.html And it also includes a forum on Guns and Hunting, http://64.29.201.168/forum/index.php?act=idx
Saw this review of the Para Ordnance 1911 .45 in the Shooting Illustrated latest issue. Makes me want the 14-round version. http://www.gunsandhunting.com/PXT.html http://www.paraord.com/product/gunrightspistols.html
paras don't get much love at the ranges i frequent. kimbers, tripp's guns and brazos are much better out of the chute.
BT's right. Para-Ordnance is a triumph of advertising dollars buying gun writers. They are a lower quality pistol with a price tag to pay for 20+ glossy magazine ads. Get a Colt, SA or Kimber. If you truly want a cheap 1911 that works, try Rock Island Arms.
Hey All! Para makes a quality fiream! I traded my Glock G20C for my brothers Para LDA. That was a good trade! The LDA/DAO trigger feels way better than the HK LEM or the Sig DAK triggers. I recently had factory nite sites installed and they rock. This Para has not had a failure of any kind. While my Para has taken a backseat to my other two 1911 style pistols(SA TRP, Sig TTT), It's certainly not poorly made. That being said, I'm about to put my Para LDA P14-45 on the chopping block along w/ my Ruger KP95D. there's just not room in my safe anymore and they are my least favorites in the collection. _______ mugdava
