Hi Steyrclub... I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I own a Steyr AUG A3 BullPup which I recently purchased and have not had an opportunity to shoot it yet... however, I am really look forward to the day as it is ready to go and I am very proud of it. Looking forward to sharing information and learning from this forum.
Lots of Cheers, RAT from Houston, Texas
Thanks misterlarry. I sure will let you know after I test out my Aug. And hopefully I can take some pictures. Where do you shoot? I shoot my rifles at one of the Bayou Rifles range out south on 288, about 22 miles south of Loop 610. They also have a pistol range and 22 LR range on Eldridge just off of I-10 West. Do you happen to have an Aug? I have a collection of all of the FN BullPups (FS 2000, PS 90) plus the SCAR 16, SCAR 17 and FNAR .308. In BullPups, I also own a IWI Tavor, Kel-Tec RFG 12 guage shotgun and a KelTec RFB .233/5.6mm.
I am looking forward to getting acquainted with the Steyr members as I would imagine I will be learning lots about Steyr guns of all types. I like the looks of a Steyr target .308 called a Steyr SSG 04.
I usually shoot at Spring Guns & Ammo on Spring-Cypress and Kuykendahl. Actually, I don't even own a rifle at this time. Not because I wouldn't like to, just haven't gotten there yet. I didn't own any firearms for over 35 years because gun laws in Canada got so insane, intrusive, and infringing. I've purchased all six of my handguns since last December when we got our permanent resident status and permanent Texas DL.
George Bush Park (American Shooting Center) on the west side, Hwy 6 and Westheimer Parkway, by FM 1093. They have ranges from 100 yds to 600 yds. Very nice place.
I have shot at Bayou Rifles, a private club with two rantes: one being just over the berm going notth off I-10 at Eldridge. It is for .22 rifles and any cal. pistol... but no center fire rifles. The other range is located off 288 Soouth about 22 miles south of Loop 610. It has many different rifle ranges up to 1,000 yards and separage pistol ranges. Cost is ~$145 and members with a Range Safety Officer can shoot at the Addicks range anytime. Otherwise, volunteer RSO's man the range on Friday Afternoon, Saturday and Sunday and non RSO members have to shoot while a RSO is on duty. Members and their guests can shoot at the 288 location any time they want... any time, as RSOs are not required. Bayou Rifles is really a good deal. It was founded in 1938 and is the oldest rifle club in Houston. If anyone wants to check it out, their website is.https://www.bayourifles.org
