New M9A2 won't disassemble

Hey Everyone,

New to the forum. I have a brand new M9A2 that I've had for a few months. I disassembled it out of the box to understand how it worked and took it to the range for the first time a few weeks ago. When I got home after a day at the range (probably put 100ish rounds through it), I can't disassemble it. When I push in the button on the side and slide the lever down into the disassemble position, the slide moves forward about 5 mm, but won't move forward beyond that. If I pull it back while holding the lever down, it goes back to the same position.

Any idea what I can do to get it disassembled? I can't clean it and I'm worried about using it again until I can get it taken down and ensure the action is working.

Did you pull the trigger to decock? Clear for safe, and drop the striker, then push the button and rotate the lever down.

That did it. Now I feel like an idiot, but way less than I would have if I had to slink into my local gunshop for help, so thanks for the assist. I'll be re-reading the manual in case there's anything else I "forgot" in there...
