Gidday from Aussie Folks!
I finally picked up my new M9 A1 a couple of weeks ago and I must say I am very happy with my purchase!
I love the feel of this weapon, fits my hands just right. I really like the safety features - at first I thought it never had the trigger guard safety but it does and I think it is so cool, a great feature of this gun.

Due to work rosters, I have only had the chance to use it once at a club night shoot.
I ran 3 types of ammo through it:
Speer Gold dot 124gr JHP
Blazer 115gr FMJ
Highland 124gr LRN
Because it was a club shoot and I had to get my ass to night shift straight after it was rather rushed. But was happy with they way it performed. I roughly put 100 rounds through it, mixing up the ammo at each mag change. I had no FTF or FTE's with any of the rounds.

First shoot was 10m (32feet) and got nice grouping, then 15m (50 feet) and still was able to put them in the black and then 25m (82 feet) and was over the target a bit, but being a night shoot with crappy lighting didn't help (making excuses lol) I really like the sights but took a while to adjust to them plus the fact it was my first time using this gun.

The cheap Highland ammo was actually really nice to shoot with. The Blazer rounds put out an impressive muzzle flash and the Speer Gold Dot gave me a fright - quite a hot load, so I keep my mags at home loaded with this stuff.

Because of Aussie bullshit Arms laws, my Steyr has a 123mm barrel, so there is an inch of barrel poking out of the front - not the look I really like but I guess beggars cant be choosers. I have a cousin in Cali who is going to machine me up a custom compensator, more for looks than anything. I tried to upload some pics but for some reason I cant do it on this web site - if anyone can tell me how?

I hope to get to the range when I have time to relax and take my time with a few hundred rounds and give a more detailed report - but so far happy with the gun, worth the $980 :)

Cheers!!

can you tell me how much the 123 mm barrels are? I beleive I would like the look call me a freak. Also use the attachment feature instead of pictures and select them from your desktop...I would love to see the picture also. I live in New Jersey and because of our bs laws I can never concealed carry so I would love to have the longer barrel for just a little more accuracy out of the Steyr.

@Shiroyu - Hey Bud!
I dont know how much the 123mm barrels are as it came standard with the gun, Aussie law for semi auto's. I will ask my gun dealer next time Im there and find out for you. But I will say that what ever they cost here you can bet they will be half the price over there in the States - even with our dollar being stronger, my dealer didn't become a multi-millionair by passing the savings onto us!
Having the gun now for a few weeks I actually dont mind the extended barrel too much, and I am in the same boat in the fact we cant carry either so accuracy is a bonus.
I still cant add pics, I think its my PC, but will try a few more things and if that fails will email you some pics if you like :)

So I also forgot to welcome you which is a huge faux pas on my part. Yea end me some pics there should be a few ways to do it on here and I believe my email is listed on my profile page. I emailed Steyr about the 123 mm barrel so we will see if they can give me the low down. I am sure you will love the gun I have had an M40-A1 for 2-3 years now and will not ever trade it!!! I also just bought my girlfriend a M9-A1 but alas it is in the safe at the local gunsmiths while we wait for the necessary purchase documents to arrive. The site is also usually a little more active just a slow week I guess...
