·Well, I spent Saturday and Sunday shooting paper with my new M40-A1.
Immediate differences (aside from cosmetic) are in the extractor plunger; it is now a round nob rather than a cylinder with a side filed flat. In addition to the now missing manual safety, everything else is pretty much identical.
I shot 400 rounds (x100 180gr Winchester Winclean - x100 180gr Winchester - x100 180gr Federal TMJ - x100 180gr Remington UMC) and had zero malfunctions. The brass all ejected nicely and properly in addition to the pistol being very accurate.
I have stripped the slide down and am sending it off tomorrow to get painted 'Satin Black'
I'll post pics when it comes back.
But yeah, it's everything I was expecting and more... I love these pistols.
