    When the Washington Post editorial page whaps a Democratic leader in Congress upside the head, perhaps he ought to consider that he's overplayed his hand and run his big mouth a bit too much about his evil intentions.

    Consider the bad press John (Abscam unindicted co-conspirator) Murtha is getting after mouthing off about his "slow bleed" strategy to hamstring funding of war in Iraq in President Bush's planned troop surge in Baghdad.

    Yeah, command alters the strategy based upon expected new troops from the surge, and Murtha hamstrings the deployment. Brilliant. All they will have to deploy is new body bags because of this idiocy. Politically speaking the Democratic leadership can't risk victory. Murtha is being used.
