COPE+BASES http://www.gunaccessories.com/LeupoldOp ... Mounts.asp here are some links to the mounts that i cant figure out, maybe im not bright. if you use these do have to use special rings????
The best mounts for STEYR MANNLICHER rifles (and by the way - the most beautiful ones) are manufactured by STEYR MANNLICHER themself. You can get them via the STEYR ARMS INC in Georgia. (http://www.steyrarms.com). ...just my 2 cents... Oliver
Steyr makes a great - "Steyr SBS Tactical 20MOA Picatinny Rail" one piece base mount that fits all short action (.308) SBS Pro-Hunter rifles - Possibly still available from CDNN. Most of the hunting style (i.e. - light barreled versions) SBS Pro-Hunter rifles we've put together for customers have the two piece Leupold Browning A-Bolt base mounts which fit perfectly and look very nice.
Hi olli* Thanx for the info. But, I couldn't find any accessories links listed on either http://www.steyrarms.com or http://www.steyr-mannlicher.com . I couldn't even log in! What am I doin' wrong? Plz advise. Thanx. Wulf
Talley mounts are very nice. i like the dual dovetail by leupold as well. for rigidity i'd say the talley since the base IS the lower portion of the ring, therfore you have less parts. remember if using leupold bases and rings that while the leupold mount selector says LOW rings for 40mm scopes, the obj end will clear the bbl fine but the bolt handle will strike the eyepiece of the scope. a metal file and 30 min in the parkerizing solution for the bolt handle fixed it for me. by the way the steyr mounts are actually EAW mounts and run in the 300 dollar range. http://www.eaw.de/eaw/index_uk.php
