Measure and Post Your Trigger Pull, Plz

Howdy Boys :)

I'm very curious about trigger pull variances for the M and S Series Steyrs. For those with a trigger pull guage or some other way of accurately measuring their trigger pull, please post your results here. And, please be as accurate as you can. I'm not interested in hearing, "...oh 4-8 bs....". I'm talkin', "4.2 lbs" or "3.8 lbs", that kind of accuracy. I'll post mine tomorrow, when I get a guage that works. And, if someone will offer a simple and exact method for determining trigger pull, short of actually having a trigger pull guage, plz step up to the plate and post that info, ASAP. Thanx.

OK

I went and picked up an RCBS trigger guage today and after BT's trigger tuneup its sittin' pretty at 6.25 lbs. I wouldn't mind if it'd go to 3-4 lbs, and that's what BT's workin' on. Wish 'im luck on this project. We'll all benefit from it.

Hi Guys :)

Thanx for getting involved. I hafta tell ya, after I went and purchased a new RCBS Trigger Pull Guage, I had to practice a bit to get consistancy. Obviously, I wasn't the only one. <shrug> I tried a digital fish scale when I told a friend I was goin' to town for a new trigger pull guage. He suggested we try his fish scale and so we did. It scared the Hell outta me seeing anywhere from 8 to 12 lbs! My trip to town became more hectic. My first try with the new RCBS was in the truck in front of the dealer. I musta looked like a junkie. It read between 5 and 8 lbs. When I got home, I found that if I put my M357-A1 in a vise, racked the slide with the mag removed and disengaged the trigger safety before putting the guage to the trigger, a smoothe even pull lead to a very consistant 6.25 lbs. When I didn't go through this routine, I was getting readings from 5+ lbs to sometimes over 8 lbs. The scale reads to 8 lbs. Pull was more erratic not using the vice. Anyway, thanx again for your participation. Hava great week.
