The issue i am facing with my steyr m9a1 is at times its out of battery for like 1/8th of an inch i guess. I have changed ammo but still i am facing this issue . Kindly suggest me how to solve this . Thanks

Hey King, welcome. Do you know how many rounds the pistol has had? I’ve heard of this at times with pistol with very few round count and that haven’t been oiled yet/ had factory oil dry up. I would try and get the oil and Grease out and then try and run 100 rounds through. If not you can always do some polishing or just call up Steyr for warranty work.

More than 300 rounds i have fired . Oiled it as well no effect on battery issue then fired more than 100 rounds dry . No positive effect. If you can tell me how to polish it plz

Steyrs prefer full power ammo. NATO spec 124 grain is my favorite. Weak ammo may not push the slide all the way back.

Hello and welcome! Does this happen when you’re firing it or dropping the slide? I’ve had all of mine will hang up the last 1/8” ish if the slide is not allowed to slam forward.

My M40-A1 (Gen4) does the same thing, hangs up just short of battery unless you let it slam forward from its most rearward position.
