I have an m40 that I've owned for about 10 years. Just recently it started jamming on feed. I've put 1000s of rounds through this weapon with no problems until recently. I thought maybe it was magazine issues so I bought several new mags. I've tried several different types of ammo.

When the slide comes forward the round will get lodged at an upward tilted angle as it enters the chamber. I've cleaned the hell out of the weapon and oiled, and even unoiled it.
I'm wondering if a barrel replacement is in order here.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

On YouTube there's videos how to check your recoil spring. But 1000s of rounds calls for new recoil spring

Yeah that's my vote as well, your spring's probably wearing out and not providing the necessary force to push the slide back into battery. Might be worth giving Jeff at Steyr a call as well, I'm sure he knows better than I do haha.

And if your going threw the trouble of ordering one might as well order 2 or 3 that way your only paying shipping once if you plan on keeping it and firing it often
