M-40 1000 rounds

I just finished putting 1000 rounds through my m40, and it just keeps getting better. I wanted to encourage all the members of this group to do the trigger tune-up. I originally only did the tweaking to the spring, and the made a huge difference, but this week I was bored, and finally found some 1000 gritt paper. (Wally world, in the auto section by the touch up paint) I did all the polishing that was recomemended, and some areas that I could tell were getting some wear, and man, it's amazing how smooth and crisp the trigger is now. It's so nice for shooting. Thank you so much Bigtaco! Your tutorials were amazing!

I have been unable to find the 1000 grit paper. What brand or type is this paper?

I found it at Wal-Mart, in the automotive section, where they have the touch up paint and wax and stuff. They even have 1500 gritt. It is made by 3M, called Imperial Wetordry Automotive Sandpaper. 1000 gritt. Hope this helps.

Matches, any auto parts store should have 1000 grit paper for body work.......
Thanks. Found some at the autoparts shop.

Glad you found it! Hope all goes well with your tweaks! I hope that you are as impressed by the reduced friction and crispness of the trigger!

Good shooting!
