I bought an M9 from my friend that I love but was surprised to see that the serial number is REALLY low! - 007xxx. He bought it new about a year ago. We have probably put about 700 rounds through it with only one FTF. Does anyone have any problems with an M9 that early in production? Or any warnings?
The trigger doesn't feel heavy to me but I am quite a newbie. I hear that this trigger looks like a pre-fix trigger. Is that true? Thanks!
I believe that there were extraction issues. The gun was desinged around the .40 S&W so the 9mm lacked the power for totally reliable extraction. Others know far more about tis than me, or whether it is even true. The bottom line is to shoot your gun, get to know it, and if there are no issues then why worry? Buzz
It shoots great, like it better than the Glock to be honest. Just wanted to know if there was any preventative maintence I should take. Thanks for all the help guys. Twix
keep an eye on the ejectors length and keep the extractor clean. every 1000-2000 rounds might want to remove the metal frame from the polymer and clean out the carbon and brass bits. get a copy of IDPASteyrs PDF on his gun that went 90,000rnds +
hey i got u beat 0068xx ......take that for your low serial number......i didnt know how many they made so i didnt even know 7000 was on the low end
last I knew the numbers are up to 50,000 with MA1 not sure where the transition from original M to MA1 occurred my original M are 20-30,000
