hey guys, want to know what is this rifle from Colt. Help

Looks like an ar with a 9 inch barrel. may be an "ar-pistol" Thats what it looks like to me though. I think anyting under 16" barrel is class 3, though. In fact, I know thats what it i, in the 2nd pic I can read AR-15.

it would only be an AR-Pistol if it had no buttstock.
It is a Short Barrelled Rifle (requires an ATF SBR tax stamp).

The upper is not a Colt upper so this was a build-up on a commercial Colt AR-15.

Aha, I never knew what differentiated them. Thanks. Never really bothered with them, Ive heard you dont get the required velocity for bullet breakup.

That upper reciever doesn't look like a factory one... also, check out the selector. That one does full auto too... I don't like the M16 series much, but I wouldn't turn an automatic one down if it were handed to me!
