Steyr was great first and foremost. very short turn around time.

it seems they replaced my multifunction unit with an A1 piece. the only difference i've noticed is that the key button doesn't push in all the way unless the gun is cocked. this means i can't lock the gun without having the firing pin cocked. is this normal?

That's normal.
You should still be able to push the locking button in so the take down lever can be used to field strip
keylock issue

you don't have to rack the slide, just push the trigger forward till the safety engages then the key will turn. good luck!
