Hi, I'm new to this site and it seems like a great one! The wife and I went to the local gunshop in search of a new handgun for the wife and to make a long story short wound up ordering her a Steyr M9-A1. She is a short girl with small hands and the A1 was the only auto that fit her hand perfect. Now I'm a .45 kind of a guy but I have to admit I really liked it to, so much in fact, if it shoots half as good as I think it will, I plan on getting myself one.

The question I have is this; I've been on most of the holster links on the sticky and realize that no matter what type she gets, she'll have to wait at least a month to get it. In the mean time, she'll probably get a uncle mike's nylon hip (the one with a mag holder on the front) . If any of you have one, what size did you get?

One last question: She is short in the torso and I don't want her to get a holster that she has to draw from under her armpit  , does anyone have a suggestion on a good make? I kinda like the grandfatheroak kydex with a belt loop. It will be carried CCW so she'll probably get a belt loop design. What do you think of the FBI cant vs. the straight drop for her size and the gun type?(I seen where someone stated they believe they would have preferred the cant due to the way the steyr is made).

Sorry for the long post but I just can't believe its so hard to get a holster for such a great gun. Thanks in advance for any info. :D

thanks

Hey, Thanks for the info. I looked at the fist website, but I overlooked the fact that the K1 came in an OWB holster. I believe that will be the one!!

Thanks again for this great informative site.

p.s. the more I browse this site the more I know I'm going to by a M9A1 after my wife gets hers...

Strongly consider a holster designed for ladies.
Most any holster that is made for a guy will cause the gun butt to poke her ribs and cause her to have to draw way too high.

FIST does make one, call them and speak with Jim Murnack the owner.
Also consider spending the money and getting a Mitch Rosen. His Nancy Special was designed just for woman also.

Might cost a bit more in the short run but in the long run she'll be happy and comfortable. She'll actually carry the gun.
