Dang it!

I want to shoot my P7, but it is in such near mint condition that I am thinking I need to find another in lesser condition to fire and [gulp] holster for carry.....

I was reading another forum and someone suggested that the Chantilly P7's were more desirable.... anyone here know anything about that?

...lookin 4 more P7's I am

Many feel the Chantilly era P7s tend to be of higher quality. I have a couple and to me -- they all seem to be finely crafted firearms. I think it is similar to those cherishing the earlier S&W pinned and recessed revolvers over the later products.

Get another -- you can't have too many P7s. Of course the only leather worthy of P7 carry is made either by Matt DelFatti, Mitch Rosen, or Milt Sparks...

Ever since Die Hard first came out I've been a fan of the P7....I'm going to count to three there will not be a four.
"I'm telling you... you're just going to have to kill me..."

"O.K...."

BTW, I just saw this thread. I want a P7M10 so bad you wouldn't even believe it. Of course I don't have $2000 to buy one.... maybe I should roll over my 401k... hmmm

I decided to satisfy my craving by buying an airsoft version for $30 until I can save up

Ah....the P7M10....by far the mildest shooting, most accurate 40 S&W pistol I own...

This is #241 -- my shooter. I sold another NIB safe queen I owned (#2281), but for $2900. Since there were only 4000 or so sold in the USA -- they've appreciated in value quite a bit.

gaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!! - And I thought it was a big deal waiting for my tax return to buy my Bulgarian AK!!!!! That one was about $900

You guys are lucky to have those.... My only hope is that H&K decides to bring them back into production on the cheap, which will never happen of course... *sigh* oh well :(

Once you fire one -- and experience the exceptional accuracy -- you'll be hooked.

Sadly, the events of this week have proven that 9mm is an effective cartridge against humans...

The P7 PSP remains my favorite CCW -- over the P7M8 -- simply because of its slightly smalled dimensions. Although I always carry a spare magazine, the European heel release doesn't concern me much -- because most self-defense shoots do not involve a reload...

With 8 +1 rounds of 127 gr +P+ Ranger T SXT ammo, I never feel under gunned.

Been to the range with a well equipped buddy quite a few times the last couple of years, got to shoot a lot of nice guns including HK usp, elite, tactical, socom etc, Sig 229, 228, 220, 226, and a nice X5, some glocks, kimbers, and a nice SW (?) among others, but the only one I keep trying to talk him out of is the P7 and for some reason he just doesn't want to part with it.

It is one cool gun -
that unfortunately remains well beyond my means at the moment.

thanks for sharing the pics and uh let me know if you ever need to weed out your collection a bit.

Went to my favorite gun shop after work Friday and picked up a very sweet, creampuff-condition S&W 669 in trade for my almost-new M40-A1. Dealer had to look Steyr up in his book to find out what it is worth.

Anyway, he's happy and I am, too. The 669 is a 3.5" barrel subcompact and I stopped off at a friend's house in the country after the shop and burned about 75 rounds of FMJs and HPs through it. Sweet DA/SA shooter that seemed to be hitting dead on. Gave several tin cans a good dose of the ol' time religion. They were a lot holier when I got through with them. The 669 ain't an S357-A1 but she'll will do until Steyr delivers on that promise.

But that's not why I'm writing this post. The same dealer also has an HK P7 that looked in very good condition though with a hefty price tag, $1,300. Way out of my price league. The slide has some rather fancy engraving, looks quite professional, not some jailhouse tatoo work. The gunshop owner commented that the engraving actually makes the gun worth less as a collectible, but it sure looks some mighty fancy needlework to me.

Gun shop is Mid South Guns in Wagram, NC, telephone (910) 369-2370.

The gun shop oughta give me commissions. I saw a S&W 1066 there and told a couple of guys in the S&W Forum about it and one of them bought it five minutes before the other one called. Maybe that helped when we started talking trade 'cause I'm sure happy with my deal.

HK P7s anyone?

HK P7s anyone?

Got this email from Island Tactical in Sin City, I mean Las Vegas:

HK P7 Pistols - $869 & $735

We just received these handguns from the South German Police and have a limited number of "Grade A" models which look brand new. We also have a large number of "Grade B" models arriving in one to two weeks and they are at 90%.

I can get at least a pair of pistols on my wish list for that kind of moola, but to each his own, HK P7 that is.

Trust me -- if you've never shot a P7 before, and get one of these -- you'll soon forget about all those other pistols once you complete your first range session with the P7.

My first P7-series pistol was a German Border Patrol trade-in that I paid $700 for back in 2003. It was a spontaneous buy while traveling on business. I bought it in Tallahassee and took it to the Bass Pro Range in Hollywood as soon as I checked into my hotel.

The photo below was the very first 8 rounds fired! Needless to say, I was a member of the Cult immediately and although I enjoy my other firearms -- my favorite remains the P7s. Even as I type, a P7M8 is on my belt, stoked with Ranger T +P+ ammo...

Nope -- 7 to 10 yards. That's where I do most of my self defense shooting practice...

As seen here with the Steyr...

Or, Kahr P45...

Or, HK Tactical...
