Went to the range with an experiment. I had my G30 and wanted to try using a 40 cal barrel and a 357Sig barrel and see if they would work.....I have been thinking of buying a 29 to convert, but checked the barrels and they fit in the 30........So i rolled out some G20 mags I have and headed out with 357sig and 40 cal.......15-20 yards.........Surprisingly everything worked...... 8-O I didn't have to change out any parts.........the 357Sig was super accurate and groups of 1" or less was common.......the 40 barrel was not as good, but that probably was a quality issue.......they were not expensive, closeouts from the sportsmansguide.........I was disapointed that the recoil wasn't softer in the G30 platform and feel that the 45cal works best in the 30 as is.........the best recoil tammer I've found so far for 357sig is surprisingly............Steyr.....small as it is.........Sig 229 came in second.........IMO..........
