I asked this question about a year ago and the response was that a pistol is in the works. I haven't seen one, so I will ask again. Is Steyr going to bring out a full size pistol? Also, is there anymore word about a .45acp? It seems that Springfield has hit a home run with the new XD .45acp. Steyr is missing the boat.

Hmmm,

I don't know who told you that Steyr was working on a full-size, but I'm all over the various gun forums and google and I haven't heard a single rumor about a full size Steyr. As for .45acp there were some rumors that Steyr was thinking about it, but they seem to be just rumors as nothing solid has come out yet. For some reasons the Europeans just aren't nuts about. 45 caliber pistols. My guess is that if the MA1 series takes off in the U.S. and sales are huge they would go for the .45 caliber, but for now I think they're just trying to concentrate on selling what they've already put out there the 9mm, .357 Sig, and .40 S&W.

way back in the day, when I met willy. he discussed the fact that Steyr had plans to make an "L" (large) in 45ACP that was to use 1911 magazines.

I've heard that for years but it never made sense to me because 1) the Steyr pistols have a significantly different grip angle than the 1911 and 2) the Steyrs are double stack pistols.

So the Steyr L would have to be a completely different animal than the M & S.

I'd rather they came out with 10mm instead of .45. No reason why they can't do both though.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

45 ACP will outsell 10mm by a decent margin
