Ordered the FIST K8 tuckable/adjustable with J hook today. They also had the A1 listed. Should be 3-4 weeks....$70+ bucks with shipping...Hope it turns out to be a good choice..........I thought of the Blade-Tech after I ordered it, but i the wait will be a lot shorter and the price about the same after the shipping charge.......... :D

Let us know how it is.
I am an IWB-only person and have just started carrying a tuckable about 9 months ago.

I have a #K8 on order too. I ordered in "thin" rather than "ultrathin", with a customized split J-hook, so that it is one piece from the connection point at bottom of holster all the way to end of hook. I need to call and check status, I ordered at least 4 weeks ago.

They wouldn't make me one the last time I called them...........and my last Compy scratched three of my Glocks before I realized it......... :x So I'm hoping the FIST will be a good alternative.........

OK. It is fine. The pics FIST does are accurate, in that FIST Kydex holsters are not glamorous looking. I have already modified it, and I ordered it with a modification.

Look at this pic. Notice how the attachment starts at the bottom of the belt, and travels up to the belt attachment. The belt attachment attaches with screws and is removable, so you have a choice of attachments: J-hook, belt loops, slotted loops, etc.

Personally, I don't see the point of using a tuckable holster if you have the the dern screws visible and poking out 1/2" to 3/4" above the waistband. So....

So I ordered mine with J-hook, but made in one piece, without the attachments. Basically one piece of Kydex that attaches at holster bottom, extends up and is folded into the J-hook. Basically in the style of this, the K4:

OK, so far? Well, the K8 is "cantable", meaning the front screwhole at the bottom is slotted, so you can pivot the attachment and adjust cant. Now examine that first picture again. If you "mentally" move that belt attachment to the left of your screen, the way you would for a forward "FBI" cant, guess what happens? Why, that belt attachment is now in front of your pistol handle! That ain't no dern good, at all. In addition, the holster rides too low on the waistband, and to me it seems like it wants to dive below the waistband. So I can't get a good grip on the pistol. Fruck that noise.

So...out come the tin shears and Dremel tool. I unscrewed the J-hook, clipped the kydex off at the top of the "slotted" screw hole, then laid that piece over the remainder and used a Sharpie to mark the outline and the screw holes. A minute with a file finished and rounded the cut edge, and a drill bit and Dremel with router bit finished the screw holes. I am just a hack at DIY, but I did considerably neater work than FIST did.

Here it is with my modification. The cut-off piece is visible at the bottom.

The gun is held tight to my body. Concealibility is good. Draw is ok, being so tight to the body means getting thumb in is more work than an OWB. Fairly standard for IWB. Comfort seems adequate. More comfortable than my CompTac Shirt Tucker for my Kahr PM40 was, for me anyway. Maybe a smidge less comfy than my Crossbreeds for M40 and Kahr PM40. A smidge more comfy than my SideArmor IWB for 5"1911. I think I prefer the stability of 2 points as in Crossbreed, Sidearmor with outrigger, CTAC, etc. OTOH, it is much easier and quicker put on this than those others. 'tain't purty, but tain't fur show, neither.

    Bottom line: I like it.

Recieved my FIST today. My impressions are........yikes !!! that's thin kydex.. if I ordered one again I would get the "thin" version which you have to ask for......the standard is called "very thin" and they MEAN it...... Workmanship is only fair and ThaiBoxer's dremel fix is a good idea. I did order the J hook which works great and I do like the fit of the gun and the wearability seems good so far.....Since this is Kydex and not leather, i'm not worried about the workmanship much, but the thicker material is a must. I don't really think this holster will hold up to the wear and tear of daily carry.........it will be interesting if this cracks in a year whether or not they would honor a free replacement........but i would expect one for the price.....
