As of last night I have the last missing .357 Steyr in my collection. Here's the breakdown: M9, M9 (night sights), M9-A1 M40, M40 S9 S40 M357 Only missing M40-A1, but that's a variation on the original design. I heard S-A1s are coming, so I'll have to shell out my hard earned cash again.
Congrats. You and babj are the only guys in the club that I've read are working on the entire collection. He has a bid on a M357-A1 so I suspect he's getting close to having them all, too. I believe he's said his goal is to have all 8 existing models, M and MA1, S and SA1. And who knows what Steyr will announce at SHOT? Hopefully SA1s in 9, 40 and 357.
Yes, have we heard anything more concrete on the release date of the SA1s with the new Mannox finish?
Actually, I count 12 variations... Gen 1: M9 [9x19] M9 [9x21] M40 M357 S9 S40 Gen 2: M9-A1 [9x19] M9-A1 [9x21] M40-A1 M357-A1 S9-A1 S40-A1 ...am I missing any???? ...of course, once you have all those in factory condition, you might want to get a few more to have slides hard chromed etc... ya know... for show guns!!! :stupid:
S40-A1? Don't think that one ever made our shores yet, but I could be wrong and often am. And only a pitiful handful of S9-A1s arrived and disappeared faster than dew on a July morning in the Deep South. As for me, I'm eagerly awaiting the long-rumored S357-A1. Who knows what Steyr will actually introduce at the SHOT show, perhaps nothing more than the new Mannox finish. And we don't even know that for sure. Have to wait and see.
