Wanted to add this: Range Rules

http://www.eaglepeakshootingrange.com/gpsr/rangerules.html

RANGE RULES

1. NO (FMJ) Full Metal Jacket RIFLE ammunition to be fired on the range. (Hollow & Soft Point OK)
2. PAPER TARGET shooting only. NO hip or fast draw. NO tin can or bottle shooting.
3. KEEP chamber clear and open unless firing.
4. SHOOTERS only on ranges. (No Spectators).
5. POINT guns in the air, at the ground, or down range (Safe Direction) at all times.
6. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES prohibited on premises, Internal or External.
(If we smell it you’ll have to leave).
7. THIS range is not responsible for carelessness, faulty ammunition or equipment.
8. DO NOT handle any firearms, equipment or ammunition during a cease fire.
9. NO children on the range unless fully supervised by an adult. (Within one arm length).
10. RANGE PROPERTY includes all brass on the ground, unless you brought it.
11. NO RAPID FIRE. (One second between each shot).
12. CLEANING of FIREARMS prohibited on the premises. (Bore swabs only)
13. THINK SAFE - BE SAFE. EVERYONES LIFE DEPENDS ON YOUR ACTIONS.

(FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ALL RANGE RULES MAY RESULT IN THE CONFISCATION OF YOUR RANGE CARD AND/OR BEING EJECTED FROM THE RANGE.)

Your range officer will review all range rules and cease fire procedures with you before range admitance.

Main thing that I got that was new for me was no FMJ rifle ammunition for rifles. Not sure if that will matter to those who are bringing the MSAR and AR variants, etc.

I guess we'll have to break out the tracers and give them something to really worry about in order to get them to forget about all that big, bad FMJ :p. Nah, that's how pretty much every range in the area is... I've got a boatload of SP wolf for the AR. I am a little disappointed about the prohibition on alcoholic beverages though... Guess that means I'll have to eat my pancakes w/o the usual "eye opener" shot of everclear :(

Looks like it will be a little warmer than expected:

Sunny
High 45°F

Precip 0%

Wind: NNE 15 mph
Max. Humidity: 33%
UV Index: 3 Moderate
Definately wear cold weather gear. A watch cap for your head and gloves when not shooting. It's going to be sunny and clear. So no worries about rain. Not even going to be freezing.

Best thing about cold weather is you can ALWAYS dress up to it and get warm. Wear long underwear if you need to and gloves (hell, could get the gloves that have fingers that come off. Think I might try to find some of those.)

In all, it's a Christmas range trip, so it Should! be cold. Would be odd otherwise. :D

I was planning on going with Syntax, but family issues have taken precedent. I'm sorry to inform you all that I'm unable to go. I was so looking forward to this.... ;_;
Oh man, now you're gonna have to listen to SYN brag about how "totally awesome his STG 556 was and how you could've been there and you really missed out man...."

Maybe next time!

Family issues always take precedence. We'll take pictures and plan other outings, so there will be ample opportunity to enjoy hanging out later on. Hope everything works out for you.

I'm up now.

I ain't happy, but i'm up.

Freakin cold as hell out side.......heck even the dog this morning when I opened the door for her to go out and pee walked to the front door peeked her head out and decided she'd hold it till later. lol

And as I sit here thinking ..."You know today would be the perfect day to go meet 15+ strangers at an IHOP and then take said strangers to go shooting and stand out in the cold with a big long metal-cold-absorbing-gun for multiple hours, all the while saying inside my head *BANG* there goes 30 cents.....*BANG* there goes 30 cents.....*BANG*there goes 30 cents......Counting up to the $200 dollar mark then exclaming to myself that this was an awesome day.

So lets recap:

1. Wake up to get ready at 6:45 for days events.
2. Check temp outside to find its 35 currently and get excited.
3. Build anticipation on meeting 15 possible Luby's shooters.
4. Load tons of precious ammo into car knowing its all about to be gone after working hard late hours to be able to buy it.
5. Stand out in cold all day whilest chatting to luby's shooters and watch in joy as they like you waste their precious money.
6. Hop into car and head home hours later realizing IHOP gave you diahreah and your wallet is empty and car now has half a tank of gas and you only remember 3 out of 15 people cause brain is froze and during putting guns away you notice ammo stash pile is way depleted and as you are cramped over from said meal at resturant you simply........................................................... smile.

Yeah...........Thats the makings of a psychopath right there.

See you all in a lil bit at the resturant. :)
