Contact Holsters from Latvia - Pictures

The technical director of Contact produced this for me.

It is hand made.

The thread is German made.

The leather is imported from Sweden and it is naturally tanned, therefore, Chrome-Free. This is the same kind of leather used in high-end Mercedes models in the AMG and Designo line, as well as English luxury cars such as Rolls and Bentley. It is a very, very fine grain. (The best leather in the world has almost no grain).

They are available in three different qualities.
Handmade, Machine made (with a hydraulic press) and Machine made with "normal" leather.

They have molds for the M series and I am supplying them with a mold for the M-A1.

They are available in strong-side/weak-side configurations and many different models are available.

I will be setting up a group buy after the holidays and after they finish protptyping out a mold for the M-A1.

I will take some high-resolution scans of the holster so you can see the incredible attention to detail in the stitch-work. This is serious quality.

***The one pictured below for the CZ PCR that I ordered is the hand made/hand boned model with the Swedish leather. It is a right handed, strong side holster, open top. Made in black leather with a 44mm/1.5" belt sizing.

Again, these holsters are a product of the EU (European Union) and they are hand made in Latvia, a BALTIC state.

I have already dealt with U.S. customs to get classification for import on the product as well as tariff schedules and other details necessary to handle importation protocol...

The holster came attractively packaged in this bag...

Ehhhh...

Latvia is NOT Russia.

That is why I said "BALTIC".

Never-the-less, the price is very competitive and yes, you get more than what you pay for....

More details, price-wise, later...

I know  I was half kidding.

This looks like a really cool deal. I'll be jumping in I'm sure, and appreciate you making this happen.
Oops!

The smilie faces didn't appear in my post!

I know :)

I`m trying to order a holster from their web site but it`s not going through.
Any ideas?
I'm in for A1 leather.
and M leather.

As for the construction, how stiff is the holster in the non reinforced section of the body?

Also a bit tough to see in the pic, but is the belt loop tunnel raised or flat? If it is raised for the belt to pass through, that is a sure sign of attention to detail. I love the Askins style of holsters, I hate when the belt tunnel is flat and you have to fight to thread a belt on.

Is the slot on the trailing edge wide enough to use a decent double ply belt? there are several holsters I've tried where you can't anything but a peice of paper through the slot.

BTW, this thread should have been in either holsters or group buys

Listen, we are going to do a group buy on them as soon as they get the M-A1 models up and running.

It will work out a lot better shipping wise and financially, because money needs to be converted from Dollars to Euros and transfered internationally and then you have customs to deal with on the shipment.

So hold off for just a little bit and we will go from there....

1. I will take a vertical shot. The belt loop that is easy to see in the picture (trailing edge slot), is semi-flexible, so that it molds to your side when you are wearing the holster. Only the last 3/4" is semi-flexible though, because they intentionally stitched the anterior area to keep it rigid.

2. The tunnel is Raised. Had no problems getting a belt through it. Nice and easy. I hate it when it is a PIA to get a holster onto a belt.

3. I just pulled out my trusty Mitutoyo digital calipers and measured ;) It is approx 1/4" wide...just over, at .260".

4. I am not ready for a group buy just yet. After the holidays.
Sounds great
And, that's my favorit style of holster.
The stitching is very nice.
Some makers don't stitch close to the detailing. This holster is going to last for a long time and maintain it's fit.
Yes, I was also happy to find that it was tight right out of the box. That means as soon as it "breaks in" it will be perfect.

I hate getting holsters and finding out that the gun fits loose. As soon as the leather wears-in, that gun is going to wobble.
