Brave on one hand and super stupid on another! He 's lucky he didn't get shot. Having a lunatic w/ a big sword kick down your door is where home defence comes to mind. I mean I would be pretty alarmed... Anyway at least nobady got hurt.
Who doesn't have a phone? At least send a telegraph or morse code to the police.... Honestly, I'd be pretty mad if some dude busted in on me if I was watching some illicit material... Except it would be the story of "man shot while barging into a neighbor's apartment with a sword."
So what would you do if you thought someone was being raped or perhaps murdered in a neighboring apartment.? It would be too late by the time the police got there. We have a system like that in the UK and it does not work to defend anyone. In a couple of percent of cases the police catch the perp after the event but for the victim it is already too late.
