Hi.....new member here. I just bought this M40A1 on GB, and haven't received it yet. Just wondering if we can tell by the serial number if it has the new extractor, or not.....? Serial number is 051029 Price was $299 with four 12rd magazines.....that was the starting price, and no other bidders. Thanks....and, I'll be checking this site out in the next few days. Looking forward to shooting this. I've always thought this would be the perfect handgun for the 40sw cartridge......I guess I'll see about that!
Wow that's a good price. There probably dumping for that reason. Change the extractor and you'll have a nice piece
According to the date code COM, this M40a1 was manufactured in October of 2005......so, I think I can safely assume it has the new extractor. Is there any disagreement with that? I'm glad I bought my M40-A1 this past fall. It really just called to me. I haven't been to the range with it yet (it was under the tree for months!). They are going to get harder and harder to find. The US isnt going to get any more Steyr .40S&W models in the near future. (Read: indefinitely)
