Howdi.

I guess, I am one of these ambidextrous weirdo where it doesn't make any difference if it is left and or right hands.
Both eyes or left or right ...it is "still" relatively easy...But lets put it this way..When I was a young pup I use to play Hockey in the high school team this way...Right hand stick on offense an left hand stick on defense...and we were not to bad in the league

Cheers!

Massad Ayoob has an article in the Guns magazine September issue about cross-dominant eye pistol shooting.

http://gunsmagazine.com/DHG0907.html

A study of 5,546 subjects from 40 years ago determined almost a third were “cross-dom.” 28.6 percent had left eye and right hand preference, while 3.9 percent had right eye and left hand preference. The citation was “Rengstorff, 1967.” The same study found 91.5 percent of those surveyed were right-handed, 7.7 percent southpaws, and 1.1 percent ambidextrous.
How about a semi-gangsta-style grip to cure the cross-dominant-eye problem?

Steve Denney, cross-dominant LFI instructor, shows the
McMillan/Chapman one hand correction.

im left eye dominant but tend to pick up a pistol with my right hand. unaware of this situation, i naturally took the semi-gangsta-style grip. using a rented 1911, brass kept falling on my head, torso, and sometimes inside my shirt through the neck.

a bit like Netfotoj, being cross-eye dominant, mostly i'm just confused as well. i'm a natural lefty who was trained to be right-handed in everything because no one would train me southpaw. i eat, write, box, etc. right-handed. everything that i learned myself, im southpaw. i surf goofy. my drink is always to my left. i play chess with my left hand. etc.

luckily for me, im in the early stages on training. i'll try shooting with my left hand next time. :)

If it works for you... but I'm not sure I want to go to the range with you. If I did, I'd back you up. Way, way back.

I am cross-dom: right hand, left eye. I tilt my head onto my shoulder while using the Chapman stance.

Is there any benefit to using McMillian/Chapman Tilt over the way I do it? I have been shooting for 11 years and just learned about the Tilt this May at LFI.
