I just mounted 3-9x40 leupold on my new forester. leupold mount selector says LOW is what i want. i have plent of clearance on the obj end, i could probably put a 50mm on, but the bolt is striking the eye piece of the scope. its about 2mm too high to clear it unless i intentionaly press down when closing the bolt. should i shave the bolt down a bit?
without visual it's diffincult to determine fix? do you already have high or extra high rings installed? can the scope be slide back to clear bolt operation? sometimes a weaver rail and high/extra/high mounts(rings) will provide the adequate clearence. burris signature rings with nylon inserts are great for set up alignment without having to use all your windage / elevation adjustments for initial set up.
Hiya Cohiba May be a bit redundant, but is your eye relief within the scopes install spec's? i.e. 3.5" - 4", or whatever it is for that Leopold? Just a thought. Good luck. Wulf
